FULL STORY

Fembol Investment Limited partnered with Pioneer Medical Initiative to support the 2022 edition of Curators Bootcamp, a youth-focused healthcare capacity development program aimed at empowering young people to bridge healthcare gaps in rural and underserved communities across Nigeria.

Held in Ibadan from December 2 to December 4, 2022, the three-day bootcamp brought together selected youths between the ages of 16 and 30 who are passionate about healthcare advocacy, volunteerism, and community impact.

Themed “Bridge the Care Gaps,” the bootcamp focused on equipping participants with practical skills, leadership capacity, and technology-driven approaches to improving healthcare access in underserved communities.

As part of the partnership, Fembol supported the initiative as a Gold Sponsor, reinforcing the company’s growing commitment to youth development, social impact, and community empowerment beyond the logistics industry.

The bootcamp featured hands-on emergency response training facilitated by healthcare and emergency response experts. Participants received practical training on first aid, emergency assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), casualty management, and emergency patient transfer procedures. Participants who completed the training requirements were scheduled for certification through a licensed emergency response organization.

In addition to practical health training, the program included workshops and lectures focused on:

Youth engagement for rural healthcare action

Leveraging technology to bridge healthcare gaps

Community health documentation and data collection

Leadership, collaboration, and social impact development

Participants also engaged in a Health-kathon innovation challenge where teams developed and pitched technology-enabled healthcare solutions addressing challenges faced by rural and underserved populations.

Beyond learning sessions, the bootcamp created opportunities for networking, collaboration, and community building among young healthcare advocates and volunteers from different communities.

Speaking on the partnership, organizers highlighted the importance of empowering young people with the tools, exposure, and support needed to drive sustainable healthcare impact at the grassroots level.

The initiative aligns with Fembol’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) vision focused on youth empowerment, innovation, inclusion, and sustainable community development.

Through partnerships like Curators Bootcamp, Fembol continues to support initiatives that create long-term social value, strengthen underserved communities, and empower the next generation of changemakers across Nigeria.
